The May long weekend (Majówka) this year was different from the previous ones. First of all, I wasn’t in Zakopane, and I didn’t spend a single second on a train. Instead, I made a plan with Małgosia (from Poznan, the capital of Greater Poland) to meet up in Darlowko and have a good time. In a force of 10 (in words: ten) people, we showed up by the sea on May 1st, although at different times. The times are important because by the time Gosia and her crew arrived, my face had already managed to change color to red.
True, that famous Poznan precision failed a bit, and an hour and a half turned into two and a half, but that was probably the GPS’s fault, so I won’t complain. Especially since we had calculated the time needed to serve the sausages in advance, and everything ran like a… Warsaw watch :-). Warsaw prepared Silesian sausage for Poznan in Darlowko, so we had a little geography lesson on the occasion (I wouldn’t be surprised if the charcoal was from Bialystok).
Thanks to this trip, I now know I won’t make a career… in show business. Not only do I not have the looks, but I wasn’t even given a voice (what line was I standing in when they were handing those out?).
Generally, the first and second evenings were a huge success, and the photostory is in the Picasaweb album and, unfortunately, on videos. The third evening was different, because the Greater Poland delegation was heading back to their capital, while the Warsaw crew went down to the sea to capture the sunset on camera. However, as a punishment for us preferring to party for two beautiful days instead of admiring it, the sun gave us the slip and hid behind a cloud (though only a moment before the actual sunset, so the photos are still interesting).
Of course, I also worked a little bit, but as far as work goes, I got it all done in 30 minutes, so we can just skip that episode.
