The Move

Przeprowadzka – Grodzisk Mazowiecki

After the wedding/reception, it was time for the move. A lot of stuff had already landed in Grodzisk (or ended up with other people), but now, in a few trips, I brought over most of my clothes and a handful of computer and multimedia gear. For this to be possible, before this operation (actually, even before the wedding), we renovated the apartment and expanded our furniture collection. It turned out that the apartment in Grodzisk has higher ceilings than the one in Ursus (and it didn’t occur to me to measure it vertically, too). My calculations for the amount of wallpaper needed were proven wrong right at the very first roll.

Since neither Iza nor I (especially me) are experts in renovations and hanging wallpaper, we bought wallpaper that, according to the description, didn’t need paste applied to it. It was enough (in theory) to just paste the wall. The result was pathetic—a nightmare and a reason to cry. Without the help of friends who dropped by around midnight, tore off the “glued” wallpaper, and hung it the way it actually should be done, we probably would have had another renovation right after the wedding. But as it is, we have a nicely and multi-colorfully renovated little apartment. To make sure all the clothes could fit, we bought one wardrobe, two cabinets, and a dresser. I don’t have a liquor cabinet yet, but whatever.

The internet connection, which easily lasted Iza for a month, I used up in a little over a week. I quickly bought a 10 GB PlayOnline plan to bring in a stronger breeze of civilization.
