This year, July started… in June :P. To get into a good mood before the wedding, Mariusz and Karolina invited a group of friends for a joint bachelor and bachelorette party at Hulakula, located in the Warsaw University Library. I’ll be honest, I need to have a serious talk with the director of the library where I work (Wilanów) about organizing a similar club in the back. They should be an integral part of the library :-). Since the alcohol wasn’t limited, it flowed freely. The dancing, revelry, and shenanigans lasted for us until 4:30 AM, because it’s a long way back to Grodzisk.
A week later, Mariusz the bachelor ceased to exist. The wedding reception was in the same hall in Wyszków that we remember from Darek and Kasia’s wedding, the party was obviously great :-), even the band was the same. At the wedding, we made plans with the ‘Dareks’ 😛 that they’d visit us at our summer plot, since we’re heading there soon.
Two weeks later, we met up by the lake. I managed to take a lot of cool photos, which you can already see on Google Maps.
Towards the end of July, a difficult period in my life began… delivering wedding invitations. Even today, just the sound of the words ‘tea’ or ‘cake’ gives me goosebumps.
All our August weekends (taking advantage of the fact that, exceptionally, we didn’t have any weddings to attend that month) were taken up by handing out invitations. Real-time stats kept on the internet showed us just how much we still had left to go. Due to a larger concentration of family in her area, despite having more guests invited, Izabella was “in the lead”. I, on the other hand, caught up a lot in one weekend, which was nevertheless murderous, as it required a visit to both Koniecpol/Czestochowa and Pienice/Krasnosielc.
In our free time, we planned to practice dancing, but most often it ended with just good intentions.
