Ticket – 50 PLN, gas – 30 PLN, KFC – 20 PLN… the experience of watching the Women’s National Volleyball Team live at the European Championship… priceless :-)))
Szybka akcja, we’re going to the championship, a quick ticket purchase and we hit the road. The weather wasn’t exactly on our side, but we’re not afraid of a little weather. The road was just a road, with an unplanned longer stop in Pruszkow, through Rawa Mazowiecka – Hołek (our GPS voice) guided us to Lodz, and he had no trouble guiding us to KFC either (because we love KFC).
We reached the Atlas Arena when the Dutch were losing 1:2 to the Russians and immediately started cheering. Somewhat thanks to that (obviously), the Orange squad got their strength back and won two sets to win the whole match. Holland and Poland sound similar, so there were no problems with cheering, and the arena filled to the brim during this match. And yet, when I was buying tickets yesterday, you could still pretty much take your pick of seats (the cheaper ones, because the better ones were already gone). Anyway, the match went our way, though there were some tense moments, but that always boosts the cheering (which, in turn, is bad for the throat). The view of the court was pretty good. Thanks to the nice zoom on my camera, the photos came out decent. My throat has already stopped hurting (thanks to a wild rose lozenge ;-)). The trip back home went without a hitch, just some minor traffic jams in Lodz on the way out to Warsaw (after all, those 13.5 thousand people had to get out of the city somehow). I got home around 1:30 AM.
