Goodbye Summer for Another Year…

Żegnaj lato na rok… – Darłowko

On the last weekend of summer, to keep up with tradition, I went (with Iza) to say goodbye to the sea. Plans for a getaway to Greece/Cyprus/Egypt fell through because of tests and doctor visits before my surgery, so a little weekend reset had to do for some rest.
The weather was fantastic. After dumping our bags in the room, we headed to the sea, starting with Darłówko Wschodnie (it just so happens I know Darłowo(ówko) almost like the back of my hand, so I could easily play tour guide around this town). After a little stroll on the beach, we went back to the house to get ready for the evening party 🙂
In my case, the preparations basically consisted of trying to take a nap :-). I didn’t get enough sleep because we somehow went out for the sunset an hour too early, but on the plus side, the sunset was gorgeous and well-documented :-). The party lasted for us until around 1 a.m., but only because travel fatigue caught up with us. The rest of the gang lasted another 3 hours, but they were mostly locals.
Of course, getting a good night’s sleep was not in the cards for me. A BBQ breakfast (which I love), buying fresh fish (yuck 😛 good thing Iza took care of that), and a walk to the viewpoint with Piotrek and his partner. And well, running a bit behind schedule, we hit the road back, making it home a few minutes past midnight.
