Like every year (not just in Chałupy), December 24th is Christmas Eve.
For some time now, though, there haven’t been any clashes in my house on this day. A few years ago, after all the household members spent a few days cooped up together in the apartment, the tension would build, build, build, and always explode on Christmas Eve. Only to reach a “truce” at the Christmas Eve dinner table. Now nothing builds up, nothing explodes, so there’s no truce either. Has the tradition been ruined… I don’t know, but even if it has, I don’t mind. Nowadays, at most, we just bust each other’s chops, but it runs in the family, though I’m the best at it 😛 And even the “victims” laugh at my jabs and comebacks.
