Turkey in the Summer…

Turcja latem… – Antalya

Taking advantage of the summer slowdown at work and syncing up our schedules, we decided to hop over to Turkey for a vacation. Our skin had gotten a bit pale 😉 A vacation in Turkey turned out to be exactly what we needed.

Organizing the trip – hopping over to Turkey with the Wakacje.pl agency

Kudos for the professional service at Wakacje.pl in Ursus. Once we knew when we could go, we expanded our search beyond the traditional airports.

Initially, we looked for flights out of Warsaw (Okecie, Radom, and Modlin). However, we managed to find a cool trip out of Katowice.

Traveling to Turkey – flight and transfer

Pyrzowice Airport seemed small to me. After visiting it, I changed my mind. Even though they don’t automate things themselves like at Okecie, it’s not half bad.

Our flight was at 3:15 AM. Due to an air traffic controller strike in Antalya, Turkey, we took off around six. I already got my sleep in 😉

It turned out that the BOEING 777 we were flying in premium class had really comfortable seats.

Despite the delay, the airport was super professional. Everything was clearly laid out – who goes to which bus. They gave us a lovely transfer to the hotel, with a short break to buy the essentials.

We arrived at the hotel before check-in time. Our rooms weren’t ready yet, but we got our All-Inclusive wristbands. We could already start using them 🙂

Turkey vacation — beach, pool, and weather

The place and the area were really cool. It was just mercilessly hot. Throughout the entire stay, I felt like a machine converting drinking water into saltwater.

The beach was very rocky. In other words – a beach made of stones, but the water was great. Hotel sunbeds were available in such quantities that there was never a problem finding one.

There were no problems with access to the bars, either. Nor with the alcohol at the bars. Asking for double alcohol 😛 always did the trick. Our time passed between the beach and the pool.

It was a bit of a grandpa-and-grandma crew – that terrified me a little, but I learned from my experience in Bari. I sunbathed mostly in the shade and after applying some strong sunscreen.

Trip to the Green Canyon

The booked excursion to the Green Canyon turned out to be a hit. They organized it well.

Exploring Side was slightly ruined by being weighed down with bags of souvenirs. Overall, though, the impressions were very positive.

Heading home

We flew on the same plane, but unfortunately in economy class. I can’t complain about the amount of space, though. I pretty much slept through the whole flight. We need to hop over to Turkey for a longer trip next time.
