Michał married Angelika, so naturally, there was a reason to celebrate! To be honest, the timing wasn’t the easiest for us, because we were still in mourning (Marta was also at the wedding). But on the other hand—first of all, you just have to go to an event like this, and secondly… Dad told us to. And as everyone knows, you don’t argue with Dad. You can have your own opinion on certain matters, but if Dad says “you’re going to a wedding,” the only thing left to do is check if the car has gas.
The wedding took place in Gołąbki. After the ceremony, we drove Dad home, and then took Paweł’s car to my neck of the woods, namely the Radziejowice area, or to be exact, Hotel Afrodyta.
Where did our envelope go?
And here the first minor complication appeared, which in hindsight turned out to be pretty funny. Well, once we got there, I realized I hadn’t taken the wine out of the car, nor—much worse—the envelope for the newlyweds. You can somehow get over the wine. A man will survive. But the envelope? Now that’s a serious matter! The prospect of giving the newlyweds wishes along the lines of, “All the best, and your gift is… somewhere in the car,” didn’t seem like the best idea. It ended with me giving them only my sister’s wine, but I honestly explained the situation.
Michał and Angelika’s wedding on the front lines
Once we dealt with the gift issue and could breathe a sigh of relief, we took our seats right by the dance floor. And I have to admit, we hit the jackpot. We probably had the best seats to watch the band. Practically the front line. If the band had VIP tickets, we would probably be sitting right there. And the band really rocked! You could see the musicians didn’t treat this just as another wedding to “check off” the list, but they actually liked what they were doing. They played with such engagement that at times it was hard to sit still at the table. You show up at a wedding as a guest, and after a few tracks you start wondering if maybe you shouldn’t be out on the dance floor after all. And so, even though the circumstances weren’t easy for us, we managed to have a really great evening.
