Waldek is getting a divorce…

Waldek się rozwodzi… – Warszawa

Seven years of life together, and the finale was shorter than the previews before a movie. The whole divorce hearing took a staggering 15 minutes. So fast that you barely had time to sit back, and it was already over. There was no grand theater, no tears like in a Brazilian soap opera, no airing dirty laundry, and no fighting for the title of “who was more to blame”. The court asked, listened, stamped the paper, and you could go back to your life.
A no-fault divorce – meaning officially: nobody is to blame. Unofficially, it’s a known fact that the fault always lies on both sides… the wife’s and the mother-in-law’s. (A joke, obviously, before someone starts writing a lawsuit against having a sense of humor).

Seven years of building a relationship (okay, maybe five), and terminating the contract was faster than changing your cell phone provider. So many shared memories, photos, conversations, arguments about little things, and classic lines like “do whatever you want” came to an end in the time it takes some people to pick a movie for the evening. No war. No heavy artillery. No tug-of-war. Just two people deciding it was time to write the last page of this story and close the book.

Because marriage is a bit like a joint project – sometimes the project takes years. Sometimes it turns out that further revisions won’t change a thing, and sometimes the best solution is to click: “end collaboration”.

Taking this opportunity, I want to thank everyone who helped me get back on the market 😉 the second-hand market this time 😛
