KSW 31 at Ergo Arena

KSW 31 Ergo Arena – Sopot

The evening belonged to Michał Materla, who effectively explained to Tomasz Drwal that the championship belt looks best on his hips. The defense ended with a TKO in the second round. Karol Bedorf didn’t mess around with small talk and knocked out Rolles Gracie in the very first round, confirming that the heavyweight champ isn’t a fan of overtime. Borys Mańkowski opted for a calmer route and defended his belt by unanimous decision after going the full distance. Marcin Różalski proved once again that a beard doesn’t fight by itself – he finished his bout with James McSweeney via TKO. Tomasz Narkun, on the other hand, quickly “hugged” Karol Celiński so effectively that he had to tap out to a rear-naked choke. Jay Silva got his revenge on Marcin Naruszczka by judges’ decision. Kamil Szymuszowski, meanwhile, outpointed Maciej Jewtuszko, and Goran Reljić and Attila Végh gave the judges so much work that they couldn’t even fully agree with each other.

Long story short: there was no shortage of thrills, the belts stayed right where they were, and the fans went home convinced that in KSW, even the judges’ decisions can be an extreme sport.
