Trip to the Zoo

On August 7th, right before leaving for a well-deserved (though not exactly relaxing) vacation, I visited the Warsaw Zoo in my official capacity as a chaperone. The weather was great, the kids weren’t too much of a pain (they just got tired pretty quickly). Privately, I hadn’t been to the zoo in a good 3, maybe four years. The best attraction I remembered from my last visit was missing—namely, the chimpanzees throwing their feces at the visitors. My group actually started the tour with the monkeys.

In nearly 3 hours, we managed to see everything except the aquarium, which we simply didn’t notice because we were staring at the monkeys. And by the time I figured out where it was, the kids had no energy left (strangely enough, their energy came back as soon as we entered the playground).

Interestingly, in my case, to go to the Warsaw Zoo, I had to travel to Grojec (and before that to Grodzisk Mazowiecki), drive to Warsaw, and on the way back hit both Grojec and Grodzisk again (ahh, those roadworks 😉 )
