It’s high time to take advantage of Poland’s presence in the European Union structures and see the capital of another country without a passport. The first class of the EC night train meant that despite the 9-hour ride, we arrived in Vienna in good spirits. The trip was sponsored by the EU. This was possible because the Ursus District Library, where I work, participates in an EU program called BARFIE (Books and Reading for Intercultural Education). Since the meetings ended after 2 PM, we could explore Vienna by daylight. Especially since public transit in the Austrian capital is brilliant.
